I finally caved this week. I went and bought myself new socks. Please understand . . . I have plenty of socks. But my eldest daughter has taken to borrowing all of my socks. I mean all of them. I have not purchased socks in ten years (so it was probably time anyways). I’ve tried to curtail my daughter’s desire to wear my socks, but I think she finds it fascinating that she can fit in them. It is truly a novelty to her and an aggravation to me! But alas, if this is the worst of it . . . it’s not so bad. I’ll just keep buying more socks for myself, so Madie has plenty to wear.

It was a good night in the Lake house. Madie presented her three month project on Rick Riordan the author of the Percy Jackson series . I prefer the Kane Chronicles which is all a bit of contention between Madie and I. I keep trying to get her to read about the Egyptian mythology series with the Kane Chronicles. She keeps trying to get me to read about the Greek mythology of the Percy Jackson series. It is all in good fun!
Madie did a great job on this project. We are proud of her. I was truly impressed with it all.
Here she is explaining her project to the principal.
A notice to all Percy Jackson fans. . .please notice her orange shirt with “Camp Half-blood” on the front! It was fun addition that we made together this week.

The kids’ bathroom has been difficult to use since the day we bought the house. But other projects always creeped up the priority ladder. So I am excited about this project. What we thought would be an easy fix in 2008, turned out to be a project that required a complete tear out.
When the dishwasher died on Saturday, I thought the bathroom project would get demoted. But Chris figured out how to replace the dishwasher and fix the bathroom! Thank you Chris!!
My only prayer right now is that this project doesn’t turn Chris off to home repairs like the last one (residing the front of the house).

Madie and I found this at Walmart tonight. We had to get it. It is so cool. I don’t want to open it, but Madie and I want to know what caramel delight flavored lipstick tastes like.

I have been absent from blogging for a while. Only because of the tremendous amount of stress going on in the Lake house. My list is long. Between work and the family, I have little time for my self. Chris has been working extra hard to help more at home so that I could get my work done. This has been a huge help. Even with all of this, I feel like I am just running and running. I guess part of me felt really guilty to spend any time on myself if my husband was willing to give so much of himself to help give me more time to get my work done. Blogging is an extra not a need, so therefore no blogging. But this is my way of recording those beautiful memories that I don’t want to forget. So I have promised myself to post more often. Because this time in our lives with the children this sweet age is short and fleeting. Soon they will be teenagers and will be sarcastic and difficult. Right now, they are all still sweet and loving. It is awesome and I love it.

Ben and I are on the bus going to the Houston Children’s Museum. Taking a group of boys versus taking a group of girls is always a unique experience.
