Maddie, that is the greatest costumet ever!!!!!! I am so impressed with you. I expect Ben to dress up as a Star Wars Costume, but you shocked me. I am so proud you are my niece. You are not top of the list. I can’t say enough about that costume. For historical purposes it’s important to note that the Light Saber is the weapon of the Jedi Knight. Leia was not a Jedi Knight in Starwars. We do find out much later in the final trilogy that she had the ability to train to become one, but in the outfit you are wearing she never had one. She used a lazer gun. I’ll find one for you as Leia with a gun is much cooler than a Light Saber.
Finally, while I like the outfit, you may never dress as leia from Return of the Jedi. EVER!
P.S. Ben, it’s been a 7 weeks since your b-day, time to take down the birthday sign. Your family photos are not going to me chronoligically correct if someone looks at the photos and thinks your b-day party was a costumer party.
You are so funny! Chris had the same discussion with Madie regarding the fact that Leia used a blaster. But we didn’t have a blaster and we couldn’t convince Madie otherwise.
Later that night, she told us that she wanted to wear the outfit that Princess Leia wore when she was a prisoner (she was talking about the bikini). Chris and I both told her at the same time, “NO!” She was a little shocked by the response but I think she got the picture.
Oh, and Ainsley. Dorothy is a great costume too. One of my favorite movies is The Wizzard of Oz. I can’t wait until Gordon is old enough to watch it. Just a few years to go. I love the idea of you as an innocent Kansas Farm Girl. Please do not grow up to be like the actress, Judy Garland. Please!
