No. But to my fellow Texans. Yes. Yes, it is very cold. Apparently it was too cold yesterday for the kids to go outside and play at school yesterday. It was 40 degrees. 40!!! That’s not cold. I didn’t even send the kids to school yesterday with winter coats yet (just sweaters and jackets). And then it dawned on me . . . my kids were probably the reason they didn’t have recess. The teachers are thinking . . . we can’t go outside because not all of the children have the proper clothing (my kids being those kids of course).
So I sent them all to school this morning with winter coats. They had BETTER have recess. What are we doing to these kids? Dress them up in their coats and stick them outside! Make them run around! They will warm up while they play.
If we didn’t send the kids outside every time it got to 40 degrees, we wouldn’t play outside for months while we lived outside of the sovereignty of Texas. I remember making Madie come inside (back in Nebraska) when it was 10 degrees outside only because her gloves were wet from all of the snow and she had been out there for an hour.
Send them out there and make them play!!!!
Um-those authorities would just freeze to death out here because it’s 0 degrees today with a windchill much below that! At this point, we would LOVE a 40 degree day-although that would make all of our several inches of snow melt!
Wow! 40 degrees. We stayed in today because wind chill was about 20 below. Can’t wait for 40 degree weather again. I’m envious. We have about 6 inches of snow, but not the snow to build a snowman. It won’t stick. We had a snow day yesterday.
