We had a delightful evening with friends.  Daddy had been gone for several days and he came back in time just in time to join us for some fun.  You can tell by their smiles that they are having a great time!

Time for Bed

Ainsley is ready for bed.  Yes. This is her getup for the night time.  Rubber boots, purse, cheerleading skirt, and blanket.  She is our creative dresser!

It was a fun day at scouts.  Ainsley’s troop tie-dyed troop shirts and then we went to the garden and picked veggies.  All of the girls parents came out to the garden too.  It was so sweet seeing the girls and their moms and dads side-by-side searching for the elusive squash.  Look at the size of those veggies!  They are huge.

The girls all learned a lot about gardening and then lugged all of those veggies back inside to the kitchen for the church to use!

This is Miss Madie’s second year in soccer.  She had a good time, but is unsure about playing next year.  She was one of three girls on the team.  Playing with all of those boys changes the dynamics of the game.  Plus she they didn’t win a single game. That makes for a tough year.

In the end, she still had a good time and she got some great exercise.  And we learned that is too sweet of a girl to play with boys.  She is not very aggressive.  Good for getting along. Not so good for getting the ball!

But she had a good time.

Overheard this rant from Ainsley while she was lamenting in the playroom . . .

“I hate my parents. They are always making me pick up toys. Why can’t they leave me alone?  It is ok if I leave my toys out.  Why can’t they just pick it up for me? . . . ”

“Ben, you need to take a bath.”

“Yeah. It’s my armpits. They stink.  I think I might need to start wearing deodorant.”

“You think you are old enough?”

“Yes.  Then I don’t have to take baths.  I can just put the deodorant on.”
